Replacing the leaking fuel line from tank to firewall and have a question.. Does the fuel line stop at the tank or is there a short tube inside the tank? Thanks for info

There is a pickup tube in the tank connected to the fuel line fitting on the outside that accepts the line. Usually they don't cause problems, but the new gas does attack metal occasionally. You can see it with a flashlight if you pull the sender, to get an idea of the condition. Don't use a plug in trouble light for safety reasons.
