My 46 coupe quit a block from home. Felt like fuel stoppage and quick peek down the carb throat verified no gas with a throttle pull. I run electric fuel pump only so didn't suspect vapor lock. Got it into garage and let sit overnight. This morning - no change. Going with simple things first a couple of soft raps with a rubber hammer on the carb - presto!! gasoline. Question is do I need to go into the carb and "clean" the needle valve - or how do you try to prevent this headache in the future. I normally use a little Marvels but haven't recently.

If you have a rubber tipped needle in there or one of these new fangled kind of flat rubber tipped inlets that you need a 3/8" wrench to install get rid of them for a old style all steel needle an seat. Also goes for the rubber accelerator pumps. Use a correct length leather cupped one. ken ct.
