I am trying to buy an original Ford grille for my '36 Ford car. Anyone have tips about what to look for? I have heard that the reproduction grilles don't fit as well as original. Also I have encountered two piece and one piece grilles, anyone know about this? Thanks for any help...buford8

There are original 36 Ford grilles that are stamped as one piece as well as a sh*ll stamped with grille bars welded in. Both are original. A one piece grille just sold on Ebay for about $600. There are many way to tell a reproduction grille from original and most notable is that the trim hole around the grille are missing, the crank hole shape is different and the side view of the bars is noticeable. Photo is an orignal grille.

The biggest give away on the repo grille is the crankhole. It's a stamped tin piece attached(spot welded) to the center bar. An original grille has the crankhole stamped into the center bar.
