Topic: 1941 Ford speedo question

I have a Deluxe '41 Ford wagon and it has a Waltham speedo that needs help. A few years back I bought a NOS Stewart Warner speedo and tried to replace the ailing Waltham. I wasn't able to make the SW fit. Is there a difference between the 2 units? It's hard to believe there would be. It's been too long to remember why the SW didn't fit right, but after battling some health probs, I'm wanting to get back at the wagon. Any help appreciated.

Thx, Tim

Often, pieces that look the same have small differences, Contact Bob's Speedometer 800/592-9673 or bobsspeedometer.com. We have used them for our instruments.

If I can't find out the diff's, I can send my Waltham in for repair, but I would like to swap it out for the SW.

Is there a part number on the speedometer? The parts catalog only lists a different speedometer for the Special Deluxe

There's a SW part # on the box, but it's not a Ford #. The Super Deluxe speedo's were different as they had a trip odometer built in. The DeLuxe's don't. The mounting holes to the dash were different between the two manufacturer's... I think. Something on that order.
