I have a 37 fordor deluxe painted Silver Wing Gray. The stripe and wheel color for the car by Ford is called Pomegranate Red. Does anyone have a referance to this color,chip/formula. Of the sources I went to many recognize the name, but no color chip or formula.Any info would be great.

Thanks, Gerald

  hi
you could try EASTWOOD'S stripeing paint, they have many reds to chose from.
on my 37 ,I used a bright red, [ has a tan body color]this is the closest you are going to get, no body know, what the EXACT color is, so you will most likley loose no points,
any sign man that stripes cars will have a very close
match,or one you will like, this is most important that you are happy that looks good,,
no body can tell you its wrong, because they do not know.
hope this helps 37RAGTOPMAN

Eastwood sells OneShot sign painters enamel, any good striper or sign painter has about every color they make. I think a lot of the reds are to orange and we played around mixing them to get a red I liked this is on a black 37 coupe with a red stripe and wheels not correct anyway for Dearborn but it sure looked good to me in 1961 and this one in 2008.

Thanks for all the input. After consulting with the preveous owner, who had repainted the wheels vermilian red, stated that when he aquried the car the paint on the wheels apeared to be original and looked like a purply/plum color, later to discover it would have possibly been the pomegranite red. He and I picked out a color based on his recolection. Since no one seems to know maybe its the best we can do. The new color looks great, really warms the car up.

Thanks again
