What is the proper way to attach a remote starter wire (button with 2 wires) on a Ford flathead. Purpose: To jog engine to set point gap.

Connect the remote button between ground and the small terminal on the starter solenoid on the firewall. I assume you must have a later flathead with the single point "post hole" type of distributor, as adjusting point gap on the earlier distributors while on the engine is nearly impossible. Be sure the ignition is off when you "jog" the engine.

Supereal Thank you. I am setting the points on a "later model" conventional type distributor. I wanted to be sure that the hook-up was correct so as to not damage anything
