Hi guys. I need a good method of installing the rubber pads around the hood.
The holes in the metal are tight and a bit rough and the rubber pads have blunt tips with nothing to grab onto to pull them through. Im sure you guys know some kind of trick to make this easier. A bit of soap or lube will help, but surely there must be an easier way. Thanks again guys....

I use a rubber lubricant or soap to get them started. I then use a blunt screw driver to push the excess in the hole.

I was kinda hoping for a slick shortcut method that someone came up with ,but I guess its going to be the old fashion way! Those holes are so small and rough that Ill have to put on some strong glasses and shine a bright light on the subject! Thanks again....

Use a small rat tail file to clean up the holes.
