Topic: Hood rubber bumper kit.

Hi guys, I just purchased a hood rubber bumper kit from Vintique. Model #81A-16761-S. I purchased it mainly for the 6 hood bumpers. The kit comes with 22 pieces but I don't know where all of them go. I know about the 6 on the hood and the 4 on the cowl that pad the side plates, but that's all. There are bumper pads, rubber sleeves, and what appear to be rubber plugs or possibly unpunched grommets. I have a copy of the 38,39 Ford book, but there is no reference to these pads. Can someone assist me in placing all these pieces, possibly with a picture or description of the placement of each piece? Any help would be appreciated . Thanks....

You don't mention what year or model you are working on. The kit they sell, I believe, has the pieces for both the '38 deluxe and '39 standard. Not all pieces in the kit are used on each (respective) car.
On the '39 std. the rubber sleeves fit over the "hooks" on the inside fender pans. Your hood side panels fit in to these.
Those things you are describing as possible "unpunched grommets" are 38 deluxe.
There are two fairly flat bumpers in the kit. They go (one each end) on the top of the grille, adjacent to the cross brace.

Yes I did forget to say which car it is. Its a 39 Standard Tudor. I may not use all the pieces right away but I would like to know where they all go for future use. I cant believe the company doesn't include a small diagram showing the placement of each piece. Thanks for your help.
