Topic: '35 Brake Retracting Springs?

I recently purchased a "Brake rod retracting spring,
6 5/8" long", listed by Mac's as p/n 48-2472, but am not sure how to install it on my '35 Sedan. There is
already a spring attached to the lever actuated by the brake pedal, which looks similiar to the adjacent clutch pedal return spring. Could someone please shed light on this? Thanks!

I am going over the brake system on my '35 fordor sedan and just replaced the spring I think you are referring to. It fits inside the very center of the X member. The unusual shaped end attaches to the rear wall of the center section through a hole while the hooked end attaches to the center of the pin that fastens the rear brake rods to the cross shaft arm. The hook goes on that pin between the two ends of the rear brake rods. This is an important spring to have in place for good retraction of brake rods but it is often either broken or completely missing. It can be a real hassle to get it in place. I came up with the idea of using some 1/16" diameter steel or stainless steel aircraft cable and used it to pull the hooked end of the spring in place using a small come along. Works as slick as a blank de blank . Fill in your own two words
There is also a cut-away picture in the 1935-36 Book that shows this spring and how/where it attaches inside the X member. Good luck!
