Where is the best place to buy a new mechanical v8 ford fuel pump that is Ameican made with proven quality?

I have great luck with the Airtex pumps. Have purchased mine through Car Quest. Also go to Airtex web site for info. Web address http://www.fuelpumpu.com/vehicle-search.aspx#

Thanks c-gor. I will keep that in mind but I think I want to try to stick with the mechanical pump. Maybe I will have to go electric in the future with the new e-10 gas problems with the old cars.

I bought a new not rebuilt mechanical fuel pump from Napa just a couple years ago and it is made in the USA. I think I still have the box if you need a number but if you go to Napa and tell them you need a fuel pump this is the one that will come up. I started my engine up in 2007 with a supposedly quality rebuilt pump from an old but NOS one in the box.Even though I was promised that the diaphragm would withstand ethanol it failed within 6 months.Was rebuilt another one by another"fuel pump and carb guru"same results. I figured from what I read on forums that Napa or anything new would be Chinaman made and really junk why I never really bought a new one. Finally had to but figured it would be just another temporary one but it had been dependable now for 4 years,also cheaper than rebuilds. Airtex also makes mechanical ones not neccesarily electric as you assumed from previous post. I think one from Napa may have been made for them by Airtex or mayby had Federal Mogul on the box somewhere,also Airtex may be Carter?

Airtex also makes mechanical pumps. Finding any made here is tough because most are foreign made. Airtex makes them in Mexico, mostly.

Speedway Motors sells an Offenhouser pump that is made in the USA. Rockauto.com sells the Airtex for $28.79. I prefer the Offenhauser pump as it keeps a higher residual vacuum. Tom

46 pump is an all steel bowl one // 47-48 are glass bowl ones.I have both availible in genuine "AC" brand with usa made parts and super corn gas proof diaphrams and valves.Garenteed at least 1 yr. 46 pumps are $70 outrite and glass bowl ones are $80 outrite and contain a pleated paper filter installed in the bowl. Ive sold hundreds of flat head pumps and have good luck with them. ken ct. 1-203-260-5945 cell
