Topic: Anti chatter rod removal

Can't remember what I used to install anti chatter rod screws that go through the frame. Thought I used a large screw driver wedged in the square hole but my screwdrivers are too small or too big; any suggestions?

If I remember correctly a ratchet wrench will fit the square hole in the screws. With or without an extension.
Wait -- I took an extension and ground it down to the proper size.

I thought the 3/8" would fit in there too but would have to grind it down & will do so if I can't remember what I used before. Thanks

To remove mine I used the square end of a drift pin. It fit perfect. When I ordered repalcement bolts and washers from Ray N. I also ordered the square rod that fits.

Anti-chatter rods are hardly worth the bother, Ford discontinued them when they proved to be uneffective.

I think it was 5/16,... i have a set of pipe plug drivers GPC-1010PP was the part number for the socket for 5/16" but you could confirm the size and it will help reduce damage to the screw, i have used extensions and ground them but the ball hole reduces the strength and will twist off easy, theres lots of square drive sets on the market but the single proper socket is only about $ 5
Cheers

Okay, just ground down the blade on my large screwdriver and got them out.
