Topic: brake parts

I am working on the mechanical brakes on my 33 2 door. The rear levers are worn out and I ordered new ones from Mac's, part numbers A2235C and A2236C which are listed for 32-34. I got them, but they are wrong, they are for Model A's. Are the correct ones available anywhere?.
I got the old ones off without wrecking them, so I suppose I could weld or braze the holes and re-drill them, but I would rather just replace them. Any ideas?

I haven't seen them in any of my catalogs. The 32-34 used B-2235/6. The Model A part is A-2235/6 and are not interchangable. You will have to rehab the originals. It looks like Mac's can't tell A from B.

Thanks supereal. Someone should start making them!
I like those old mechanical brakes - they can be made to work just as good as hydraulics. Inside the drums the parts are about the same and either way, it's your leg that's doing the work.

In an interesting sidelight, when hydraulic brakes appeared in 1939, old Henry had the brakes in his new'39 refitted to mechanical. He maintained that hydraulics were unsafe, as a leak would result in complete loss of braking. As it happened, he was more right than anyone gave him credit for, and the result was the current dual system that was adopted long after Henry went to the great factory in the sky!
