When tightening any part that sits on a gasket, start at the center, and working side to side move to the ends. Avoid overtightening the bolts as this may distort the gasket, preventing a good seal.

In addition to Super's advice, I like to just snug up all bolts and then tighten them to the correct torque value. This ensures that the part is seated on the mating surface. Tom This message was edited by TomO on 3-27-13 @ 7:48 AM
