  Thermostat
Robert Shewman advertised his new therm.
in the v8 times
Large flow openings, placed in the hoses up against the necks of the radiator.
Is this the better mouse trap or stick with the original set up?

Thank you...Age is taking a toll. This not an answer to your original question but I wanted to share on the 180 degree question.

I run standards (160 degrees) and find the car is 155 in the top tank using a thermometer. I also checked the stats in a pot of water on the stove and 160 it was. Surprised me how close the temp of the water was to the stats opening.

I tried some 180's a couple of weeks ago and they run up the temp too much on my dash gage. Makes it work right at the top. Doesn't boil but almost off the gage. My cap is vented so if you are running a pressure system I wouldn't have a clue.

My stats are up just inside the top hoses before the radiator, '35. This summer I am going to take some readings and see what I come up with at 90 - 95 degrees ambient. It would be interesting to check without stats at the summer temps and see what we get.

I just got some off ebay at home yesterday. All Standards. The old instruction sheets are with them and they talk about when to use a 180 etc.
