I believe there is no difference between the parking light on a 42 and a 46. The only difference being the exterior door and it is a simple matter to install a 46 door in place of the 42

Like 42 Wagon stated, you can.

Can I ask what's wrong with the ones already on the car? Keep in mind that no one will see them as they are sandwiched between the fender and the door and lens.

I'm talking about my parking lights . they are just above the head lights like in my picture. i don't know what you talking about like a sandwich ? mine don't work and are very rusted out.lens are OK but the medal is not saveable . I'm talking about the part where the bulb and socket go into is very bad . the socket is as well not to good.

Same part I am talking about. The sockets and wiring are available from the usual suppliers at around $20 each. Can you salvage the part that goes under the lens, mounts on the fender and holds the socket? No one is going to see it so it doesn't need to look pretty.

$100 sounds a little pricey to me. I've seen them at swap meets for $20-25 each in good condition.

If they are truly new old stock, that is probably not an unfair price for complete units,as the 42-46 are getting scarce They were short production years. C&G sells NOS lens for $20 each. (Page 161 of their online catalog). Their sockets are on page 178, $6.50/each. Unless you plan to use the parking lights for turn signals, the condition of the reflectors isn't important, anyway. I bought many NOS parts for my '47, and the prices were stiff. That said, the repros were most junk, making the cost of good things easier to accept, with such things as a NOS speedometer, clock, and steering wheel in prominent display worth the outlay.

I have a pair of NOS 42 blackout lamps. I have at least 1 46 surrond, possibly 2. Will find out when I shovel or snow blow to garage. About 8" today.
