Topic: 1935 Cowl Vent Drain Hose

Can someone tell me how long the cowl vent drain hose is supposed to be on a 35. I have seen them protruding into the engine compartment from 3 inches to 2 ft.
Thanks

Originally, it was only about two inches. The problem with this short length as it would leave a residue water mark on the firewall. By making the hose longer it allows the drainage water to be dumped under the car. Granted the extra length is not "original" but as a practical application it does keeps things a little more "tidy" under the hood.

Speaking of the cowl drainage hose, give some thought to re-routing the front window drain hoses over to the cowl drain hose rather than dump it behind the cowl panels where the water becomes a rust breeder!
