Topic: Removal of horn ring

Is there a trick to getting the horn ring off my 48 Ford Sedan? I have pushed in, twisted, sprayed WD40 in the area. I'm afraid I'll break the horn ring. This is an unrestored, and well used 4 door that I'm going to make a driver out of. Thanks Terry..

It is likely that the rubber insulator under the ring is stuck. It may take some effort to shake it loose. As you push down to turn the ring counter clockwise, grip the ring only near the hub to lessen the chance of breakage. It is a good idea to replace the rubber when reassembling.C&G (800/2660470) shows the insulator for your car as 11A-3672, $3.
