Topic: Radio fuse for 1936

  Anyone know what amps fuse is for 1936 cabriolet radio. Radio is an original, I beleive, The fuse holder is the original metal type.

Battery is six volt.

  It depends upon if you have the old style vibrator or the more modern solid state vibrator. If the old style SFE 20.A should do it. You can turn the radio on and monition the highest current draw with a digital amp meter and double the highest value.

  The normal current draw for a six volt radio with a vibrator power supply is between 7 and 8.5 amps, so the SFE 20 should be ample. If this fuse doesn't hold, check the current draw. On very old radios, it is common to find that the electrolytic filter condensers have failed, and may be shorted.
