Topic: 37 Phaeton- Rear seat armrests / Rear seat width

I have nearly completed the interior of my 1937 Ford V8 Phaeton.

What I am unable to understand is whether this car originally had arm rests for the rear seat. It would seem logical given that the 37 Fordor Deluxe definitely did have arm rests.

Also, I have made my rear lower seat cushion 18.4" wide as illustrated in one of the books I used for the restoration - "The Ford as Henry built it". However, this seat still seems very narrow when I sit on it and I am not sure if this was really the correct dimension.

I have been through my 37 Book but cannot find the answers to these questions. Much appreciated if anyone could help.

I don't know the exact dimension of the depth of your rear seat cushion, but the 18.4" is from the front of the cushion to the backrest.

Check with Lebaron Bonney for the cushion dimensions, They make the seat covers and should have the dimensions. They will also be able to answer your arm rest question.
