Hello! My cousin just bought a 1954 something. There are no markings any where to tell us what model. He is unable to by parts not knowing what model Ford.

The VIN is U4BG115199.
The Body Number is 72G
Trim A.

Normal searches require 17 digits. As you know early cars did not have that many digits. We would appreciate any help you can give us at this point.

That looks like a Canadian VIN. I had a 34 Ford from Canada that had a VIN that was C18H-4583.
Those letters at the beginning is what makes me think it is from up North. Also, they had flatheads in 54s.

Hi, it could either be a Monarch or Meteor.Does it look like a '53 or '54 U.S. built Ford or Mercury??.BTW-'54 Canaidian Fords were equipped with Flathead V-8s;That could be the reason parts are hard to get.Send a pic-that would help. And Welcome!!

i just did a search on Wikipedia on 1954 Canadian Fords...Seems they had a model called the Meteor-sold by Ford Dealers in Canada(and they had Flathead V-8s).The Monarch were sold By Mercury Dealers.

Thank you!! This is a great. I like this site.

The Car has two doors. In the trunk of the car are two Ford Manual, but there is still no clue as to the model he owns.

Will upload as soon as I get a picture.

I have two different Ford production books, neither one lists a model 72 G. However there is a 72C which is a two door business coupe V8. Is it possible you have a C instead of a G
