Topic: 35 Conv. Sedan Questions

I'm trying to finish off my 35 Conv. Sedan and I have a few things I need some help with. I've never seen one finished so I need to ask. Where does the tool kit belong? Under the front seat? Were there footman loops on the quarters to hold the top down and were there straps for this? Were the footman loops plated or painted? Are there supposed to be bumpers on the windshield header? Were there snaps on the back of the rear seat and on the outside rear to hold the top boot? Any guidance and/or pictures is most appreciated.

  35fordman,

I was waiting to see if a CS would answer but I have a '35 Cabriolet and the front cowl and header bow should be the same.

The front bow has three rubber bumpers to touch the top of the windshield. They appear to be about 3/4" in diameter with one in the center and the other two just inside the iron connectors. You can see them from inside the car (near the rear edge of the cowl top).

Do you have that metal cover that goes on the header bow? It is a stamping.

It is under the header bow when top is down. The rib on that cap seals the top of the windshield weatherstrip and the three bumpers stick through it. There are probably a lot of cars without it and you almost can't see it when the top is up.

35 Fordman. Here is a photo of the footman loop and top iron bumper on the drivers side, as well as the 3 snap studs going across the rear of the seat. Hope this helps.
