How many errors? There was no Ford Phaeton in '39.

If you could find someone who has a set of those hinges maybe you could borrow them to use as patterns to make a set for your car. I had a set of hand made hinges and recently sold them to a guy who lives in Australia. He used them on his car and they work well. It would not be that complicated to make them yourself, and once installed, no one else would know the difference.

The poster could have a 39 phaeton if he lives outside the US. The last US phaeton was 1938, but countries outside the US often continued using those body styles. He may also have a 38 phaeton that is registered as a 39.

I thought that the last hinged rear seat was in 1936. All US made 37 and later cars had access to the trunk from outside of the passenger compartment and therefore the seat did not need to be hinged.

The text says '36 phaeton and if that's correct, those hinges are not unique to the phaeton but rather are common with those used in the slant-back tudor and Fordor sedans of the same vintage (and '35 as well). They're around.

Thanks to all it posting and query. The vehicle is a 1936 Ford Phaeton as featured in the V8 Times Nov/Dec 2011 and the rear seat hinge brackets are missing.
JM. your idea is great but where do I start asking to "borrow" hinges?

I agree with 3w2 that the hinges are the same for all the 35 cars with a moveable rear seat configuration ....and they are out there...let me know your email address and I will see what I can come up with ...I have a 35 Phaeton ...should be the same ...
