I had my 46 conv.rewired (not original harness) for the lights(including dash) but we forgot about the horn. The horns(projection style) were not on the car at the time,so we did not think of the power wire to the horns.Where does the power for the horns come from? The horn relay part #13842 has for(4) terminals on it.Two(2) crimp type and two snap (spring) type? What goes where? Thanks John Lubinski

John: some horn relays have three terminals, others, like yours, have four. One connection is the "hot" lead that is directly fed by the battery. The next goes to the wire from the horn button. The rest are connected to the horns. When the horn button or ring is pressed, it provides ground to the horn relay which pulls, feeding battery to the horns. Some relays have the terminals marked. If not, you will have to use an ohmeter to identify them. Next to the starter, the horns draw the most current. Thus the relay. Most horn button wires are special resistance type to prevent an electric shock caused by the relay coil. Be sure your horns have a good ground, or they may not work.

John in addition to Bob's advice look closely at the relay near each terminal. You may find the individual letters on the bakelite bottom that identify the terminals. They are sometimes hard to see if the bakelite is a dark color. You should find a B(battery) H(horn) and a G(ground)

The 2 spring clamps are for the horns, the lower terminal is for the horn button, and the other is for the voltage. The voltage is usually supplied by 12 guage wire from the starter solenoid.
