Finally, after successfully burning up the generator wires, cutout, coil and resistor and then replacing with rebuilt generator, distributor, new solid state cutout, Skip rebuilt coil, new resistor/fuse block........ After being idle for 25 years....... It started and stayed running until I shut it off, no back fire. Yes, all oil and coolant is new. Though I have more to do before it is street ready, bolt on left front fender, light and horn, attach grill, bolt on hoods, replace interior (that's the biggy).
