Topic: 40 Ford Deluxe Coupe swivel ends

DadsForty    -- 12-04-2012 @ 8:18 AM
  I am in the process of restoring my fathers 40 coupe and am in need of the swivel ends for the front sway bar. I believe the part number is 01A-3533. Most of the early Ford parts suppliers I have checked with say they are no longer available. Any suggestions on where to obtain these? Many thanks.

  The part number you site is one of the perch bolts. Those must be found good used or NOS. Both are somewhat easy to find. In fact, I may have them.
If you like, email me a picture of exactly what you need and we'll set you on the path to acquiring the proper pieces.

  Thanks for the quick reply. I'm at work and pulling numbers from memory. I'll check on the numbers and repost. I have been lurking for awhile and have learned so much from the collective wisdom here. I am not a computer guy so I will get help in posting pictures.
Thanks again!

  I found a catalog picture of the swivel ends for the 40 ford. Apologies if the picture doesn't come through;
I'll call for backup tonight.

Thanks,Rob

  The number I get from the C&G catalog for the 40-41 stabilizer swivels is 01A-3533/34, $60/pair. You can see them in the catalog at www.cgfordparts.com

  Supereal,
Thanks for the info. but I have tried C&G,Dennis Carpenter, Macs, earlyford sales, Sacramento ford parts,Dick Sparado, etc.. all out. Got a nice message from Joblot this morning saying they were not available and there was a run of these made made years ago, however, with little demand for this item they were uncertain when another batch will be made.
I'm hoping a pair will turn up somewhere.

Thanks,Rob

  When low demand meets high production costs, usually that means that vendors sell out of items. C&G does show them in their new catalog, but that doesn't mean they have some. At least, they are always "up front" instead of placing them on indefinite backorder. The next best hope, Rob, is that someone has some for you. The swivels were used only in 40-41, so they are rare, anyway.

  I must apologize for my earlier response. I had apparently noted the part number incorrectly and subsequently offered you an incorrect answer. The guys responding after me were in fact correct.

I have new old stock swivels.

  You might also try All Ford Parts In Campbell, Ca. or the Early Ford Store in San Dimas, Ca. Both are listed in the vendors section of this site. Both carry a lot of NOS parts.

  Joblot Automotive lists them in their catalog, also on line, wwwjoblotauto.com or 800-221-0172. They are located in Queens NY. and have a vast amount of NOS and repro parts.
