Topic: Steering Gear Rebuild ~ LARES CORPORATION

I had the LARES CORPORATION of Cambridge, MN rebuild my 1946 Ford 1/2 Ton Pick Up steering gear. They are an advertiser in the V8 Times. Turn-around time was about 2 to 2-1/2 weeks. Not bad! And the price wasn't bad as well! I'm located at the Jersey Shore and was concerned about possible damage occurring to the assembly while being shipped. We all know how rough shipper's & conveyor belts can be. Well, it was delivered today via UPS in a 60" x 15" x 10" box. I was relieved to see that! I was even more impressed when I opened the box........ the one piece steering gear with column was sandwiched between 2 layers of heavy foam. The box was painted & filled with fluid. LARES needs to be commended! Now, the work begins.......
