Topic: Ford V8-60 Water Pumps

I have a 1937 Ford V8-60 engine with full cast iron block that I am rebuilding. The engine has the tapered type of water pumps which currently need to be rebuilt. Is there any advantage to switching over to the straight bodied water pumps? If there is an advantage, is it worth the cost and effort required to locate a front cover that accepts them? Does anyone have any experience with either of these types of V8-60 water pumps? If so, please advise. Thank you.

carcrazy, you might check with Skip Haney at 941-637-6698 or Daryl Fryer at 909-335-1418. Both are water pump experts and can probably give the best advice on those 60 pumps.

There are two types of pumps for the 60, and neither seems superior to the other. The last ones we bought came from Little Dearborn, 888/282-2066.
