Topic: Ford Poetry

For my birthday (today) one of my daughters wrote this poem about me and Ol' Henry. I thought it was cool enough to share. Maybe someone else has some clever Ford poetry to share.

In the Seat of Ol’ Henry

Comes time for a journey
My wife and dog join me
Snuggled close nice and cozy
In the seat of Ol’ Henry

No matter the distance
Or where the road takes me
Adventure awaits
In the seat of Ol’ Henry

We go high, we go low
Enjoying views as we go
With my dog perched before me
In the seat of Ol’ Henry

Sometimes we must stop
With a crack, sizzle, and pop
My wife waits very patiently
In the seat of Ol’ Henry

Something’s brewing, steam’s spewing
Wires breaking, tires popping
But soon I will be
In the seat of Ol’ Henry

People honk and admire
Eyeing classy whitewall tires
A time machine reverie
In the seat of Ol’ Henry

Some men stop and gawk
And then begin to talk
They tell me a memory
In the seat of Ol’ Henry

Through the years, memories hide
In deep dark corners they reside
But mine come forward quickly
In the seat of Ol’ Henry. . .

Riding on the fender,
Through rocky, mountain roads
Chopping down the lumber
Then hauling out the loads

Going to the drive-in
As a youngster then a man.
Popcorn, candy, Sweetheart
Sipping soda from a can.

Seven friends with skis in tow
Squeeze in tightly and away we go.
Moving windshield wipers manually
So we can climb the mountain safely. . .

Back to my travels around the country
Some stretches could seem long and lonely
But my memories keep me company
In the seat of my Ol’ Henry.

Old Henry
(The older I get, the better old looks.)

Henry, you are lucky to have a daughter that writes a poem about her dad and his old Ford.
