I am going to rebuild the horns on my '34. I know I've seen an article on this but I can't find it.

All suggestions/leads appreciated. Thanks.

The critical horn parts are the coil and the contact points. If the coil is open, as determined with an ohmeter, the horn is junk. The more usual cause of horn damage is burned contact points. You can renew them with a point file, the kind designed to dress ignition points, being sure (again with the ohmeter) that the are making full contact. Horns draw a lot of current. If there is a capacitor (condenser) present, check to see that it isn't shorted. The condenser is designed to minimize point arcing, but old ones cxan short the circuit. Before you give up on a horn, try running it by a direct connection to a battery, both ground and hot side. If the horn works, your problem is in the grounding circuit thru the horn button.
