Would a '40 tudor front seat fit a '39 tudor track? I've located what is suppose to be a '40 tudor front seat but it doesn't look quite right, the footrest at the rear of the seat has two individual footrests rather than one long continuous foot rest; could this seat have been out of a coupe or convertible? I could email a picture.

I've never seen a seat with one continous rear foot rest. All the seats I have seen (including the fordor seat) have the two individual footrests. The two footrests are bolted to the seat and placed on each side of the driveshaft tunnel.

Coupes and convertibles did not have rear foot rests so no, it could not have been from one of those models.

Bob, the 40 seat may work in your 39 , but there is a difference in the way the backrest is designed between the 39 and 40. In the 39 the upper seat cushions are upholstered separately from the metal portion of the backrest. In the 40 seat the upper cushions are upholstered as one unit. The seats may interchange, but if you are looking for originality there is a big difference in the looks of each seat. If you are not concerned with originality make sure you measure the seat tracks where they bolt to your floor before purchasing the seat.

Thanks for responding. Spoke to the seller in a little more detail; he installed these seats in his '38 convertible until he was able to find the correct front seat for his '38. The two small foot rests I mentioned in the earlier post; he had them made to cover up the mounting arms on the bottom of the seat.
