I purchased a small 6v blower which I believe is circa early 40s but im not sure. I was told by the seller that it is 6v but it moves quite slow. I took it all apart and cleaned it up and repainted it(im not sure of original colors) it was rusty when i got it. It has a flap door that either blocks or redirects the air from a round outlet to a bottom outlet. I assume this is a heater blower but whats the story with this flap door that has no cable operation and is not smooth moving? Here are some pictures, any ideas guys?

I've seen a lot of heaters, but no fans looked anything like that. I suspect it was part of a special system, perhaps a rear compartment heater for a commercial application.
