Hi can anyone confirm that the bumper guards shown in the attachment are 1938 Ford Standard, I compared them to the photo on page 5-5 of the 1938-39 Ford book and I think 38 standard is correct I would like to list them but I do not want to mislead anyone. See photo attachment. Thanks

  HI
1938 bumber guards and 1937 look the same,
but the 1937 were mounted point up,the bolt was off centered to do this,
while the 1938 were mounted upside down compared to the 1937, and the bolt was off centered for this,
I had bought both while restoring my 37 and there is no way you can install 1938 on a 1937 in the right direction,
the bumber bar is the same, just the guards were different,
hope this helps,37RAGTOPMAN

The ones in your pictures are either 1937 or 1938,
you can try installing, if you are able to mount with point down they are 1938 and if you can only mount with point up they are 1937,
The 1938 std and deluxe I believe are the same, also the 1939 standard might be also the same as 1938,
hope this helps 37RAGTOPMAN

38 Deluxe have a concave fillet on either side of the main convex vertical bar. The pictured
guards are Standard.

First thank you for your input and keep it coming. I bought the bumper guards many many years ago and they were in a box with other small pieces for a 38 standard.
What I have found out so far is the 37 bumper was used on the 38 standard only it was turned upside down and the bumper bracket holes were relocated on the 38 standard. The 38 deluxe and the 39 standard used the same bumper guard but it is different than the 38 standard. The 37 Ford and 38 Ford standard bumper guards appear to be the same from the front but the back side differs due to the inverted shape of the bumper.
My question is the shape of the back side of the bumper guards I have such that they would be correct for a 38 standard see attached photo.
References I am using
V8 Clubs 1938 - 39 Ford Book page 5-5 shows 38 standard bumper
Lorin Sorensen's The Classy Ford V8 page 78 shows 37 Ford bumper
The Early Ford V8 As Henry Built it.

Again thank you for your input. Dave

  Hi.

This bumperguard are original and fit to Ford 1937 and 1938. For Ford 1938 Standard are enough.

If you have this bumper on sell, please, let mwe know.
