A friend has a 40's era Ford chassied fire truck but is unsure of the year. He found this information stamped on a plate attached to the inside of the glove box door. 799T-1389619 Model 798T Did Ford stamp numbers on the left frame rail of trucks as they did with autos? Any ideas?

Ford used the prefix 799 for one year only 1947 Ford and Mercury line only. The Model 798T is again used for only the 1947 8 Cyl. 100HP. 1947 Ford truck with 158" wheel base.
