Since you can't see the center Bearing, is there any sure way, short of assembly and road test, to tell if it is good . Thanks, Rick

If it's not making any funny noises; my bet is it's o.k. Don't forget to grease it . There is a fitting on the torque tube for this.

if the driveshaft is out of the torque tube, look for any marks on it-worn down? which would indicate a bad bearing

The grease fitting at the center of the torque tube secures the bearing collar, so be careful if you remove it. Replacing the bearing requires a special rig, so if it isn't making noise, I'd leave it alone.

Guys, appreciate all the input, I picked up a complete rearend with tube I didn't want to do anything with the tube unless I could check out the center bearing to see it was ok, sorry I didn't explain my self better.
