Does anyone have a 37 Ford passenger car light/horn rod they could measure the lenngth on? I have one but think it is 1/2 pickup truck, they may be the same but I know the steering columns are different. Parts book and V8 resto book no help. Parts # are the same for "handle" but did handle include rod? Thank You.

Why don't you just drop your column down and try it? I believe that the handle and rod are listed as "one", as I believe that the "handle" was die-cast with the "rod"
in place in the die, as I've never seen any easy way to separate the two.

I have one out of a car stood it on the horn button 49 5/8 long.Your right about pikups they are the same length but the dash mount is farther down the mast. the dash farther forward. thats why a big man is a tight fit.they didnt shorten the stiring.

Thank You for the measurement for the "lazy man" approach to confirming that it will work for passenger car and pickup. It is as yours 49 5/8" and it came out of a 37 pickup column. Also thanks Stroker, as you say rod and button as one unit so one part number. I have had just the button itself with no rod either broken off or pulled out and you see these for sale Ebay etc without rod suppose they could be epoxied together. Thanks.
