I have a 36 ford that has a 37engine in it,and am having trouble with the condenser installation. I believe the car has the 36 distributor on it, but am not sure. Can anyone tell me how to tell the difference. Also which condenser do I get from Mac's. I can't tell which one I need. I don't know if I have a RB or a BRB coil since the one that is there does not have any markings on it except the Ford script on the top.

If your 36 distributor has a 3 bolt coil, it is a 40-12127.
If it has a two bolt flat top coil, it is a 68-12127. If it is a l937 distributor, it is a 78-12127. The correct condenser for the 78 type has a large loop in the end of the terminal strap. If your engine has the water pumps down on the front of the block, or has block off plates there, it is a '37. If the coil has a flat top, and mounts with two screws, it is a late '36. The only difference between condensers is the mounting and terminal. The value is the same. I'd advise you to call C&G (800/266-0470). They actually know their stock.
