Topic: 1937 Headlight Wiring Harness

TonyM    -- 09-23-2012 @ 3:59 PM
I have been buying pieces to re-wire my 1937 DeLuxe Fordor. I am going to purchase the headlight wiring harness soon.

Joe's Antique Auto offers Part # 78-11653 for 1937 Ford.

Dennis Carpenter offers Part # 78-11647 for 1937 "Standard". There is no item for "DeLuxe."

C&G Early Ford Parts offers Part # 78-11653 for 1937 Ford.

MAC's offers Part # 78-11653 for 1937 Ford "passenger & pickup" with "horn wiring", and Part # 77-11653-B for "DeLuxe & pickup."

I have the DeLuxe Fordor with two horns. Which wiring harness is the right one for me? I want to buy the correct one the first time around. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

TonyM.

Buy the correct harness from Narraganset wiring. You will get the correct gauge wiring, with the correct color coding and the bullet connections will be soldered on instead of crimped. The installation instructions will be clear and you can call for help if needed. They can also add turn signal wires if needed.

This person has very good reviews; nice to deal with and maybe a tick less than the other guys in price.

I went with the Narrangansett wiring harness (Thanks for the referral Tom O'Donnell). All of my harness came today. All looks good. They did forget to include my 40 female bullet connectors, but Ed said he would fix it up for me. I custom made my own Generator to Voltage Regulator harness from the 1941 piece. Still need to get or make the coil to power wire. Looking forward to tackling this project soon.
