Topic: '41 ignition and on-off switch

Hello! I am new to the club and i am looking forward being a member. I have a '41 I bought as a basket case and I am having fun getting it ready to put back together. This will be my first. The key switch on the column and the on off switch need to be replaced or repaired. The big question is how to get the collar/housing off of the steering column. I am sure someone out there has had to deal with this situation. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The switch comes off from the back. Just undo the wires, then the screws holding the cover. Replace both the contact plate and the brush. If you need to remove the key cylinder, you must drill out the pin that holds it. You will find it on the bottom of the lock bracket. You will find the club a great resource as you tackle your project.

Thanks for the input. That certainly helps explain a few questions I have. I am sure I will encounter more as I move along.
