  Hello,

iam from the netherlands and restoring a 1938 Ford pickup.

Now we are doing the paint job.

I read that in 1938 it was an option to get a pinstripe on the ford truck (similar as the Franklin Mint 38 ford truck have)

Can anybody tell me how wide this pinstriping is ?

I cant measure it at my own truck, the sheet metal was rusty and repainted in the past.

I heard about 1 inch wide to 3/4 inch wide, whats true ?
thanks in advance,

Arjan

Most pinstripes were about 3/16 inch wide. The stripe ran along the lower beltline and along the rib of the hood edge.

  thanks a lot!

I look a lot on the internet but nowhere i cant find the dimensions of the pinstripe.
i remember that it was close to 4 or 5 mm, so 3/16 inch is 4.76 mm.

We made 3 and 2 stripes over the cab and the hood in the color yellow, the truck will be painted washington blue.
