How do you remove the high beam jewel for the head lights? Turning which way? This is on a 40 model Ford

The high beam jewel is held to the dash by the light bulb assembly underneath. It has a hole shaped like an "8". You need to slide the assembly about 1/4" to move the jewel from the small loop in the 8 to the larger loop at which point it will drop off and you can remove the jewel from the top. You can disengage the light switch knob and shaft by finding a spot in between "off" and "on" and rotating the switch about 90 degrees to the left. It has always been a trial and error process for me, but eventually it comes out.
