I have a working 41 Speedometer with a "Trip odometer. The odometer works as well as the trip odometer ( they both add miles as you go down the road ) I am unable to reset the trip odometer back to zero by pushing the reset button.? Any suggestions for a fix before I take apart a working unit. Was the "trip odometer" unique only on the "Special" model or is it on all 41's.?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Steve.

Speedo is a job for experts. We use Bob's Speedometer in Michigan. If your only problem is the trip reset, I'd live with it. Repairs usually mean an overhaul, which is not cheap.

Only the Super Deluxe model for 1941 had the trip odometer. The trip mileage reset control on the back of the speedometer. Push the control in to reset. Pull the control out after setting. But if that is the only problem I too would just leave it alone.

If the 41 speedometer is like my 40, you push in on the reset knob and turn it to reset the trip odometer and then pull it back out when set to 000.

This is a direct mechanical connection and if it doesn't work, requires dis-assembly of the speedometer to repair. I would leave that job to a professional, who has the tools, parts and know how for the repair.
