I came across this in an Iowa Craigslist. I don't know if this would be of any interest to any of you, but I thought I'd at least take the time to post it. I hate to see cars like this fall into the wrong hands. http://desmoines.craigslist.org/cto/3201033685.html

Even though it has a flathead engine, the plastic body should make it unwelcome here. Conveniently left that deatil out.

Yup, it looks pretty cool and old but it is a project that has sat for something like 16 years. If you call the guy he will tell you the whole story, but the body is plastic.

1934 Ford | -- 08-17-2012 @ 4:53 PM |
"the plastic body should make it unwelcome here." To bad we can't just accept the fact that not all old cars are perfect examples of the way they left the factory. Every one of my 34's had some parts made after 1934. but they were still 1934 Fords. One had a plastic gas tank cover, one had a Optima battery and one was a Standard with cowl ligts and two tail lights. When I tour with them nobody cars about the defects, especially me. Now if it had a Chevy V8, msg wheels, and A/C I would think differently.

I'm sorry if I wasted anyone's time with this thread. I guess, given the price and the long storage time, I assumed that it was the real deal.

Well as they say: "No good deed go's unpunished". The car is about 10 miles from me, but I've never seen it before. Had it been the "real deal", It would have been a true "barn find". We are all grateful for the "heads-up", just sorry it was a dead-end. Thanks!
