Here's what the 41 keys look like. They can say HURD or Briggs & Stratton

Thank you Don for the good pictures. My car has different keys for the door locks & the ign. I can have one door lock rekeyed but the other has the holes plugged & can't be rekeyed. I would like to find A good used or NOS lock that has the removeable cover.

The B&S lock cylinder uses a cover over the cylinder pins, and the Hurd cylinder uses the small individual covers (plugs). Both styles can be made to work on the same key since the plugs on the Hurd can be removed and reinstalled. The ignition and the door locks should operate on the same key. Leon Rowell can re-pin the Hurd or B&S cylinder, cut keys to code, and sometimes make a key to a cylinder without a code.

Check with another local locksmith about re-keying the Hurd door locks. I just had 2 locks re-keyed this spring for a fellow Club member and the cost was around $20 for both and a couple of keys (not the Hurd blanks).
