I have a 1GC-43524 and no registration or title. I would like to get it registered in CA. I have no documentation. With the serial number only, I guess its a 1942 Ford 6 cyl commercial 1/2 ton truck. I also need to know the weight for registration. Can someone tell me what I need to do to get it registered and whats the process?

I'll throw out a couple suggestions: 1. IF you're an AAA member, check with them. Ask for someone in registration that has dealt with NO title vehicles and OLD CARS. Over the years I've had good luck with AAA here in CA registering several old cars and a truck. (With NO title, there may be a bond involved.) At AAA you deal with real people. 2. Seek out a vehicle registration service. They can verify serial numbers (As can AAA) and they can do the leg/paperwork and run the course with DMV. They should be able to tell you what the process is involved with NO title. Bottom line: You don't want to tackle DMV on this without assistance!
