Saw a 48 ford pickup today,stock except for the 15 inch wheels. Looked good. I have a 36 ford coupe with 35 spoke 600/16 wheels. Was wondering what 15 inch wheel would work.. The truck owner said 39-40 mercury wheels or something like that. The only reason for change would be that there are more 15 inch tires available locally. Maybe.

Since you have 35 wheels, you have a 5 bolt on 5 1/2 inch spacing. 15 inch wheels with this spacing were on early Mercury and late Ford vans/pickups. The early Mercs used hub caps which fit on the inside of the nubs (like 40-48 Fords). The later styles used caps which pressed over the nubs (like 49 up Fords).
