I am just getting a 36 Flathead going and was wondering about the proper breakin procedures for the engine.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

If you are breaking in a freshly rebuilt engine, this is what we tell our customers: Use only non-synthetic oil for at least the first 500 miles. Vary engine speeds, avoiding long stretches of highway speeds. Watch the temperature and oil pressure. Be gentle in your driving style to allow bearings and rings to seat. We like to see an oil change after a couple of hundred miles if you are not equipped with an oil filter. Have the heads retorqued after the first 100 miles. Enjoy the ride!
