Topic: 37 Phaeton - top and side curtain patterns

  I am rebuilding a 37 Phaeton.

Problem is the car didn't come to me with a top or its side curtains and I don't know what pattern to follow.

The 37 book from the EFV8 gives me some idea of what a 37 Phaeton top should look like but I was wondering if anyone might be able to let me know where could get a more detailed pattern so that I could faithfully re-create the top and side curtains myself.

Glad to know if there are any other 37 Phaeton owners out there and how many survive today.

Convertible tops are a topic best left to the experts, such as LeBaron Bonney. Until I did my first convertible restoration, I didn't realize how complex the top construction is. Even installing a top correctly is an art. We farm out the job to an excellent auto trim shop because even if you use a well made top, the actual installation takes much cutting and fastening, as well as the required snap placing. You can get info at lebaronbonney.com

Thanks supereal ! My fear with a top from Le Barron Bonney is the actual installation. I will contact them. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Are Cartouche tops any good ?

I've only used LB because they not only supply best quality tops, but have installed them for many years. If you have a problem, they know how to fix it from experience. The actual installation is a major part of the job. Pick the best trim shop you can find. I had a friend who tried it himself, and ended up with a convertible with doors that wouldn't close correctly because the top was too tight when raised!
