The brake switch on the master cylinder has a hot wire going to it and the other wire goes to the brake lights. This wire needs to come to the signal switch which in turn sends the signal to the two rear brake lights.

Brake switch is working. Is brake switch wire connected to both rear left and right light. This will gives me the brake lights but will cancel out the turn signal when brake is applied ..Any ideas..

Their are six or seven wires: one wire comes from the flasher, two if you have an indicator light on the turn signal switch, one wire comes from the brake light switch, one wire goes to the right front signal light, one wire goes to the left front signal light, one wire goes to the right rear stop light and one goes to the left stop light. There is no direct connection to the brake lights from the brake light switch. The supply from the brake light switch is "switched" by the turn signal switch so that the appropriate light flashes.

This diagram may help you. It shows how the wires are on the switch and colors.
