Topic: 1949 Ford Tudor Sedan Interior

I recently purchased the car and using the Restorer's Guide to verify originality of interior. The Guide indicates that instrument panel and moldings should be painted a dark gray metallic---mine seems to be a green metallic color. Could Green have been used? I would also like to know if rubber floor mat or carpet was used in the back. I have carpet in the back and the correct ribbed rubber in the front. This carpet is extremely ragged but looks like it would be original.

Any help would be appreciated

I wouldn't call it dark gray, more of a medium gray. I can see where it could look like it would have a greenish tint to it. There was carpet used in the back seat floor. Black rubber mat in the front. It sounds like you have what we would call a Rouge interior. An original, untouched interior, just like it left the factory, only 63 years old.

Thanks for your help. I'm thinking that some of the greenish may be caused by the fact that the car is Araibian Green and the door panels and back of the front seat has the green-tan cloth and the seats are the green and red striped mohair. Again thinks to your help and the restorer's guide, I believe I have a 1949 Ford with original interior. I'm still checking out the rest of the car but, fill confident that most every thing will be in original condition except for the exterior paint.
