What size socket would I use to remove the bolt that is in the bottom of the pump? The one that is inside the outlet for the hose.

Thanks,
Joe

Joe: I'm thinking it is 9/16's, at any rate the "hidden bolt" has the same size head as the
visible ones. I'd definitely use a 6-point rather than a 12-point, as due to corrosion, the
head may be a tad undersized.

Thanks! I had Skip rebuild mine a couple years ago & have had no problems. I am starting out on a LONG road trip. Lake Charles La. to Lafayette In & all points that my wife sees that she wants to stop. I have an extra set of pumps as well as several other spare p[arts that I packed in the trunk.I wasn't sure what size the bolts were but I will make sure I have a socket that fits. If I have troble on the way I'm sure I'll be asking for help.
Wish I could make it over to Ga. but this trip is necessary(so my wife says)
Thanks again! Joe

I suggest you also carry a spare Inner Tube in case of a flat. It would have made a previous long trip much better as the chasing around for one took some time. I have added it to my list of road trip supplies. just a suggestion
